In the Spring of 2023, we began monthly mentoring workshops for girls attending the New America School in Las Cruces. Each one-hour session helps girls explore possible future educational and career paths and advances their understanding of how to set goals and identify steps to take to achieve them. Our 2023-24 sessions include:

August 2024 - The Power of Positive 
Activities illustrate the importance of girls supporting other girls and the difference that a compliment or positive remark can make.

September 2024 - Discovering Your Dreams
Activities include envisioning the future and making a Dream Board .

October 2024 - Values and Careers, Part 1
Girls discuss the many values that guide our lives and. identify the personal values most important to them.

November 2024 - Values and Careers, Part 2
Girls identify and explore careers that align with their personal values.

December 2024 - Exploring Careers 1
Girls meet and converse with women in various stages of their careers.

January 2025 - Exploring Careers 2
Girls meet and converse with women in various stages of their careers.

February 2025 - Exploring Careers 3

Girls meet and converse with women in various stages of their careers.

March  2025 - Spring Break. No in-school session 

April 2025 - Rising Above Obstacles

Girls learn to identify obstacles to their success and develop strategies for overcoming them.

May 2025 - Writing an Original Goal
Girls create a personal goal that is specific, measurable, attainable and relevant.
