DREAM IT, BE IT SCHOLARSHIP
for Qualifying Dream It, Be It Program Participants
The DREAM IT, BE IT SCHOLARSHIP continues our support of girls who participate in our Dream It, Be It program beyond their high school years. It provides one-time financial aid to off-set their education expenses as they pursue post-secondary educational goals. Funds can be used to cover any education-related expenses including two- and four-year college, certificate training programs, and trades and journeyman training. At least one $500 scholarship is awarded annually. In 2025, we awarded five! These are cash grants given directly to the awardees.
Most of the high school girls we mentor in our Dream It, Be It program tell us that funding higher education is a significant obstacle. With this award, we hope to help them overcome that obstacle and be able to realize their goals and dreams.
ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLICATION:
Girls are eligible to apply for this scholarship for six years, including the year they participated in the program. For example, a participating senior may apply that year; a participating freshman may apply three years later when she is a graduating senior. A girl may also apply when she is enrolled in a post-high school career education or training program as long as she was a DIBI participant within the 6-year period. Girls who attended a Dream It, Be It Girls Conference in 2022, 2023 or 2024 may apply this year. Those who participated in 3 sessions of Dream It, Be It at the New America School in 2023 or 5 sessions in 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26 may also apply this year

Eligibility ends for 2023 New America School participants in 2028.
Eligibility ends for 2023-24 New America School participants in 2029.
Eligibility ends for 2024-25 New America School participants in 2030.
Eligibility ends for 2025-26 New America School participants in 2031.
APPLICATION CYCLE:
April: Application cycle begins April 1st
May: Applications DUE May 30th
June: Awardees chosen by June 15
June - August: Award presentations
APPLICATION JUDGING CRITERIA:
✔︎Applications submitted by the deadline are reviewed by a panel of judges using a point system to rank applicants based on the financial information and essays provided in the award application.
✔︎Applications submitted without proof of continuing education documentation will not be considered. Submit either:
●Letter of Acceptance (if you have not yet started college)
●Current transcript (if you have already started college)
